When a baby is born, the mother is also born. Maybe for the first time, or for the third.
Mama Yana was inspired by offering a more holistic approach to postpartum wellness. Mothers, their babies, and their families benefit from a healthy, "whole mother."
Too often, new mamas are left without enough information to prepare for this transformative time, and sometimes without a community to hold them up. We are here to be a resource to help new Mamacitas navigate through challenging emotions and postpartum adjustments.
Let's nurture more than milk production and training our waists back into the pre-baby jeans.
Many cultures around the world, including Indigenous Americans, practice a different approach than what we have typically observed in the mainstream U.S. regarding childbirth and the postpartum period. We want to support a movement to embrace the mother, to care for her and give her the time and community to nourish her in this delicate time.
It is our dream that we can be a part of a movement to refocus on the precious postpartum period, embracing new mothers, and thereby uplifting healthy families. Wishing health and love to you and yours.
